I wanted to share with you some of my favorite products I tried this cold season, maybe you had doubts about certain products and wanted more info on them, if you see them in this post, then keep on reading!
I gathered beauty products, makeup stuff and some books, there are also some cool places I hung out this Winter that I really enjoyed, but maybe I'll do a separate post about that in the future.
Let's get into business!
The Nina Ricci body lotion has been a delight for me this season, because, if you know the perfume, you know it has a sweet taste of apples and vanilla I think, so I associate this fragrance with Christmas time and it's just lovely!
The Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Moisture Gel has been an all time favorite actually, I have been using Paula's Choice products for the past two or three years now and this gel is perfect for the night time, it's really smooth and you really don't feel it on your skin and I tell you, these products contain state-of-the-art ingredients that are really beneficial for your skin. If you are interested for more info, check it out HERE.
Onto makeup stuff, I have here the Artdeco lipstick and the shade Black Cherry Queen, and in my opinion it's the best lipstick for the cold season, the shade is a really dark burgundy and it feels soft on the lips but it's really long lasting. You can see how it looks on the lips here.
Next to it, is the countouring kit from Makeup Revolution. It's a really basic powder kit for countour, I am not an expert at this so i wanted to start with this and I am really pleased with how it works. The blush and highlight are very sparkly and that's cool for the hot Summer days especially.
Next we have the Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner, to be honest it's not that precise, but I really loved the shade, I wanted a colored eyeliner since..forever, especially in a dark green color, and I thought this one was the one to buy! It comes in multiple shades, black, blue and brown I think.
I got these all from Aoro.ro
Moving on to haircare!
On the left is the Dove Dry Oil for Hair, it's a really great product, it contains so many nourishing oils that are great for your hair, like macadamia oil, coconut oil, and sweet almond oil and so many other cool ingredients and you know, I was so skeptical at first to use oils in my hair, I thought they would make it feel greasy and I would have to wash it daily, but no, I have been using oils for about 2 years now, I tried many brands and I just love them! The thing is to never use it at the root of the hair, just about the lower half of your hair especially at the ends and you're good to go!
On the righ it's the Toni&Guy Heat Protection Mist, I use this everytime I blow dry my hair or when I'm using my flat iron and such, it makes the hair much more smoother and easy to style and it really has good ingredients that can protect it from heat damage.
Books - oh wow, I could talk about these books for two days straight, they're soo good, they're written in different styles, but the narrative is really engaging and they're those kinds of stories that just really make you think about them for a while.
The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery tells the story of two feminine characters, totally different from each other, but highly intelligent and different from your regular people. The book may appear a bit cynical but I love that, if you like to read about a character's view on life/society/art and such, this is the book for you. And mind you... the ending is really, really, really surprising!
I've been hearing about The Secret History by Donna Tartt for a while and finally I found it in English on Okian.ro and boy, I was right to try it! It's not necessarilly a thriller, at least not like Gone Girl for example, its story is so subtle and yet disturbing in a way. The characters are so different one from another and they are perfectly constructed, they seem like real human beings, I felt like I really wanted to meet them in person and for me, to fall in love with a character that much, then that is a book to treasure.
I won't give any spoilers, that will give away the whole book, you really need to read it and see if the writing is in your style or not.
Oh yes... the Gucci Guilty Black edition is my favorite this season. I like sweet perfumes, not very dense like Chanel, Armani or Dior, but with subtle notes, floral scents ( give me one that smells like lilac flowers and I am yours forever!). I am not sure what notes the Gucci fragrance has, but I loved it since my first tryout in Sephora. Did you try it?
Last but not least, these Mohito boots I have been wearing like crazy in the last month, as you might already seen them in some of my posts, I love their heel and the fact that they really fit many of my clothes and styles!
What do you think about these products? Let me know!
