A western-grunge mix

 

 I realize this is quite a different outfit from the last one I posted, but what can I say? I love styling and I love variations. Although vintage outfits and jewelry will always remain close to my heart and I don't think I will ever get bored of, it's fun to play around from time to time.

 I saw this checkered vest on New Chic and what intrigued me was the length, I have this new obsession with long coats/cardigans/shirts, whatever, so I needed to give this one a try. It's fun because it almost looks like a dress and I really love the fabric, it's a dense cotton, something I didn't expect really.

I created this part grunge, part country/western outfit, a mixture of both, because here I have the checkered print item which is common for both grunge and country fashion and yet I have the cowboy ankle boots and a suede skirt, but I lack the rock, dark vibe - if we turn back time and see how I used to dress in highschool, I would've styled this vest totally different!

If it's Autumn, then I'm wearing purple

 

 There is this classic feeling I get each Autumn that makes me want to wear purple clothing and violet lipsticks - such as this one I am wearing here, I got it from Nyx in the shade "Transylvania" ( I thought it was appropiate, since I acually live in Transylvania!) 

 Paired with dark greens or teal, or even burnt yellow tones, there are so many possibilites, this color is really suited for this season, it looks bitter-sweet and it leaves me craving for red wine! 

Speaking of Autumn, I fear it's almost gone. All the beautiful leaves are on the ground and the trees look sad, the cold is kicking in and I feel (as almost all years) that I didn't manage to enjoy a sunny Autumn as much as I wanted to.

 But oh well...time flies and we're looking forward for Black Friday sales now, aren't we? Did you made your shopping list?

Like an onion or a cabbage..but a fashionable one!

When the temperatures go as high as 7 degrees Celsius (44 F) in January and a coat seems too much to wear (at least in my book) try wearing layers! 

 The vest-over-a-jacket may not be an original idea anymore, as I have seen this mix before, but that vest winked at me and like a silly infatuated girl, I smiled and took it out for a spin. I love that little faux fur around the neckline, it feels so soft and cozy. 

Needless to say I felt almost like an onion wearing so many pieces of clothing and yet so comfy and pretty. And now let's hum alltogether: " I feel so pretty/ Oh so pretty/ I feel pretty and witty and briiiight.."

   

 Enough rambling, I have to pack for tomorrow's seven-hour wonderful journey..

Winter Rain

 

 These photos were taken yesterday, not the very best of my appearance I know, just look at the state of my hair - that is due to the fact that it was raining. Raining in Winter, that doesn't sound right. And guess what? Today is snowing! I am all dressed up, ready to go out but now I have to wait for better weather conditions..Fantastic. 

The vest you see here was actually a jacket, but it was such a hideous old jacket that I had to alter it and just turn it into something else. I ripped the sleeves and modified the armpit area a little and here you go. I kinda like it, even though I am not a fan of vests or anything that contains fur, even if it isn't real.

 Hopefully the weather will improve today...fingers crossed!
