Atelier Exhibition + Giveaway winner!

gal1

I begun my day with a nice cup of coffee and a chocolate croissant ( yes, my obsession is still on) knowing that I will be late for Uni, but I had to enjoy my meal; breakfast is important! I arrived there and we begun to sort out photos and moodboards for our mini atelier exhibition, the way we artsy students do it at the end of each semester. It took us some hours and some injuries (one colleague got herself hammered on the hand, my own feet were devastated by my one-size-to-small shoes! - and they were not even heeled) but at the end we finished it.
I remember last year, it took us until 2 A.M to finish, it was ridiculous, so this time was quite a piece of cake.
Well, here are some photos with our work to brag on and....we really do hope you like it!
Thoughts?

This is something I wore yesterday at an exhibition of a friend of mine and also a University colleague. It was a nice event, seeing old friends and new and their marvelous work. Now I am so tired, I had my bachelor degree oral exam, which was so frightening but I am pleased that it went so well, also my mom came to visit me and we went all day walking and shopping.
Tomorrow, another day filled with stress, since it's our presentation, I am not looking forward for chaos..and..more chaos! But, I will wait for all you Romanian fashion lovers to view our collections at our fashion show in Calea Grivitei nr 28, at 21:30! Be there!

Chameleonic Connections

cham

Allright people, I present to you the project I have been spending most of my recent time (plus other little ones), losing my nights, the project I have been stressing out like a lunatic. We - my colleagues and I - spent a lot of time along with our teacher doing research on how this collection should be, because you see, it's a big collection consisting of about 30 pieces, and then each piece, is an individual of our own 12 piece collection. So it's something like..thirty-in-one. You see, it's quite hard for thirty minds to think alike and to create one coherent collection.
After long debates, we came to the conclusion that the people of this planet find themselves confused in this era of continuously changing technology, the time is shrinking rapidly and the need of socialization is satisfied nowadays in the virtual world. We come up with the idea of adaptation, that we have to adapt to this fast-moving world, in different ways, we have to be open minded mostly and capable of change. And the symbol for all of this is the CHAMELEON- the creature who has the power to adapt to the environment, change color and camouflage. (If I haven't seen pictures with chameleons this past month, tell me I am not crazy)

What you see here is my own theme, called Chameleonic Connections, you'll understand hopefully soon, and it's part of the BIG collection called METAMOTION.
Here are my sketches of 12 pieces. I, actually we all chose, the first sketch form the first photo for me to bring it to life.

You see, what I did, I created a self-colored dress. I had a device made with wires hidden underneath the dress, a device commanded by me so it can color my dress in those colors which we choose all together. The idea of my project is to be able to adapt in society, both virtually and physically; so...quite chamelon-like, no?

Here are some photos from my colleagues own designs for the collection:

Below is a small video the photographer made for me, hopefully you can see how the whole process went:

Personally I am quite pleased of the result, both of my project and the exhibition, but I am looking forward for your opinions!

Fashion Exhibition

Today I went to a fashion exhibition held at the ASE (Academy of Economic Studies) which consists of works made by fashion students at my University throughout the years. Take a sneak peak, it's good!

These beautiful handmade costumes are just divine! They took my breath away, not all of them were good, but still.. the details and the amount of work you put in these, really is demanding.

Next are dresses, or should I say gowns made out of paper! Isn't it interesting?

And this is what I wore for the day at the atelier and then I went straight to the exhibition. As you see I opted for quite a casual look, tried some layers and accents of colors, but I really wanted to be simple since I had some errands to run afterwards.

Hope you liked the photos! If you are from Romania, go and see it; it's delightfull. Enjoy !
