Smart casual look for Spring

 

Looking back at these photos makes me wonder how can the weather change so rapidly from sunny Spring to rainy Autumn. It feels as if we skipped Summer and went straight in November. Blame it on global warming or on mystical forces, but I simply find it hard to deal with. 

 So, my attempt for a new Spring outfit inspiration, a kind of smart casual look, feels like a joke right now in my country, but I hope that the rest of you who live in warmer climates are experiencing a much more delightful time and could actually dress like this! 

 The floral print blazer is a must have for me in the Spring season, this one has quite a relaxed, casual cut, so paired with some straight pants and a simple top really gets your attention and that is the whole point right?

 Right, well, for the next week I am back to my rain coat and heavy clothing (hopefully not sweaters!) so, I hope that during this time I won't have to post an article titled "Back to Winter".

Styling a mini leather skirt

 

 A mini skirt, nothing new on the horizon, I am aware, however I wanted to say that I really used to avoid this type of skirts because I felt they were too simple and my fascination for the retro 1950's knee length skirts was over the roof so that didn't help, but not long ago I began looking at mini skirts in a different light.

 Now, I still love circle skirts, they will always be my favorite thing to wear and this leather skirt you see it here is not new, but I love the shape of it and how it looks, so I wanted to dedicate an article to it, share with you my thoughts and maybe some guidance on how to style such a piece. 

 1. Make sure the skirt is made of thick leather (of course it can be faux leather) the idea is that there are faux leather fabrics that are lighter and cheap that it will simply crack and break in time - this will create a cheap look that will do no good.

2. Wear it with short sweaters that stop just about your waistline, it creates a very chic and fun look as opposed to the classic shirt/sweater tucked inside the skirt. 

 3. Over the knee boots are a must-have these days, they are the perfect match for any mini skirt and I am a big fan as well, however, today I wanted to wear them with a pair of ankle boos, mainly because it's March and well... my boots are locked up in my closet until December. 

 4. Pair it with a jacket that stops at your waistline - this option will make your skirt the center piece of  your outfit. Or, longer jackets or coats work just as fine, depending on what look you are aiming for.

Not quite there yet

 

 I see everywhere around the world magnolias in bloom and sunshine everywhere, while here the cold decided to make a comeback and delay Spring. Hence the cardigan and ankle boots. I even refreshed my hair color to a bright red because I was so excited for sunnier days (but I also missed having this color for some time now). At least we have tulips to brighten our mood. 

I can't wait to see trees in bloom and walk around the riverside enjoying a peaceful warm day - that sounded like what an old lady would do, but sounds great to me right now!

Classic little ol' white blazer

 

 Long time no see, I had various excuses to take a break from blogging, first there was the rainy days, then I had to pack my bags for a short holiday to my parents, then when I got here, I wasn't in much mood to take photos until yesterday when the weather was actually very nice, apart from the agressive wind. 

So while I was doing my errands, hence the flat shoes, I took some photos here and there. I don't even remember the last time I saw so many lilac trees in this town, they are everywhere! So, dreamy photos were necessarry and I had to take home a few branches, as I am naturally obsessed with these flowers. 

 Right, preparations for our very delayed Easter holiday are in the making, we have three different cakes, because tomorrow is also my birthday - yey! If we're not going to faint of too much sugar, then we'll be extremely lucky!

Blooming Spring

 

 Bloom in the trees and bloom on my pants as well - that may sound weird but seriously, what better time to wear these trousers than now, when all my favorite flowers are in bloom and there is color everywhere! 

And how great it is that it's finally Friday? Sometimes it feels like certain weeks go by slower than others and when the weather is good, you only want to plan your next vacation rather than to work, I bet you know what I mean. 

 That being said, have a relaxed and exciting weekend everyone!

Princess Sakura

 

 For the past few days I've been on a short vacation in Bucharest, visiting old friends and favorite places - some of you know thatI used to live there some time ago - I love going there during the Spring because it's the blooming season and the Japanese Garden is in full beauty right now and of course, I couldn't miss the oportunity to take some dreamy photos there.

 I wore this gorgeous dress I got last year (I honestly don't remember from where) that I didn't got a chance to wear until now, I thought this garden was perfect for it! Gosh, I am so excited seeing these photos, that place is so beautiful and serene, you wish you could stay there all day and gaze at the trees. I also wish they could stay in bloom all the time.

Is it Spring yet?

 

 I am so excited when it comes to Spring, so yesterday I went ahead and walked around in dress shoes, light tights and a simple trench coat! From what I could tell, I was probably the only girl in the city to walk around dressed like this. Others were still wrapped up in ankle boots and heavy jackets, but hey, there were 17 degrees Celsius and for me that's just about enough to put aside my coats and boots! 

What's new in this outfit, is the cute tights I got on sale (70% off, I just couldn't resist!) and this bag which is perfect when you don't need to carry much with you -  but strangely, my large camera still fit in it.

I have so many wishlists in my head for shoes, dresses and skirts, I think I'll need another job to afford all the things I want to buy, right?

Date night

 

 I was giving up hope in taking some photos yesterday, considering the fact that it rained non stop - I mean...what a great way to start the weekend, tight?  But in the evening, just when we made reservations for your typical Saturday date night, it stopped raining. That moment I thought that this is my chance! So, we snapped a few photos in a fast-forward speed, God forbid we lose the reservation! But we made it in time and we ended the night in a lovely mood as if it never rained the whole day.

 Mission accomplished!
