Birthday girl

 

Today is my birthday! ( as if that is not clear enough from the pictures, title and balloons) I never had this kind of balloons, not when I was little - actually back then, you could barely find regular balloons -  so I thought I would treat myself not with a cake, but with some fun, colorful photos I could revisit  years later and smile with joy.

A quarter of a century

 

 How is the three-day weekend going so far for you? 

Those that celebrate 1st May as our Labor Day which ironically, is a work-free day, are probably celebrating somewhere out of town, or even out of country. 

I chose to stay in because I don't necessarilly celebrate Labor Day, but my birthday. So this Friday I turned 25, which to some people is quite a big deal, but I am not sure exactly how to see it. I'm in my mid twenties and mostly I feel a bit scared that I will reach a certain point in which I'll probaly think that I haven't accomplished as much as I wanted to. 

But, let's not talk about scary things. I actually did something pretty cool on Friday morning, I went paragliding (not sure that is the correct way to say it) as you might have noticed on Facebook here. It was a birthday present and I loved it! The thrilling sensation, the rush, the strong wind carrying you around the air - it was amazing and I wish I could do it everyday! When I went back to the city I felt as if I just landed from a different world and couldn't go back to my usual activities. Strange.

 Then I made some appetizers and mojitos, we played an intesive game of Monopoly - in which I failed miserably - and ended the day, or rather the night, with a smile on my face. 

No hard-core party, not a huge guest list, that is not really my style (unless it's a surprise party - then I don't mind, haha) I was surrounded by lilac flowers and great company, which is more than enough.

My gifts to myself

 

 Told you I had to brag about what I got for my birthday. 

First things first: heels! Slim and chunky, I love them both. I already wore the navy sandals but the black ones, oh boy, I can't wait!

This very lovely dress I found while thrifting, I love the print, the volume and the length!

These very cute flats I am eager to wear as soon as they loosen up a bit.

Finally I found a simple but lovely black dress at H&M made from a very nice fabric that isn't chiffon. It can be worn both in the daylight and for cocktail events.

It's about two size bigger but that isn't something I can't fix. This way, the length is longer, which is perfect for me!

 And it was the only one left in store. 

Aaaaaand how cute is this vintage purse? I fell in love with it and the very cool color. This photo just doesn't do it any justice.

Another year older

 

 The beginning of a new month and the beginning of a new year for me started with a cloudy day but turned into a sunny warm one, thank God! 

 Turning 24 is like going home on the same path everyday - it makes no difference at all. After you pass the age of 20, you kind of loose count. Perhaps next year I will take on another path, who knows?

 After a change of plans, I decided to remain in the city which of course was not that crowded with people, because since 1st of May means something like Labour Day here, everybody left for their mini-holidays.

So I took advantage of my free day, went out and took photos (how about my new thrifted dress?)
The blazer is part of the gift my lovely house mates gave me for my birthday, thank you giiiirls!

   

Afterwards, we went at this lovely place, highly appreciated here for their food and sweets (it's called Camino) Too bad I forgot to take more pictures to show them to you. In any case, it looks very vintage and cute.

And I treated myself with this holy apple cake with vanilla cream - it was rainbow in my mouth!

Of course, how else to end my day without some shopping?
I spent a lot, but I thought "whatever, it's my birthday" -  and now I have to keep my money only for food for the rest of the month, how boring
I will show you soon what I bought!
