Whiteout

zt4

Aren't we having the loveliest weather these days? I love that I can still wear sandals and at the same time I also love that the evenings are chill and I get to wear a light jacket too.
So here I am, strolling with pride as I just cut and colored my hair, in my Roaring-something '20s dress. It's retro because of the low waist line and it's modern because of the fabric's texture and it also has a bit of more volume than a typical 1920's dress. I love it and I know this design has mixed reviews amongst people - not your usual type of dress - but it has a special something to it and that's priceless to me. I could've gotten away with a statement necklace, but I really thought it didn't need it, so just a few touches of golden accessories here and there compliment the dress very well in my opinion.
I have to pack my bags as I leaving tonight out of town to attend a wedding on Saturday, oh I bet it's gonna be fun and tiring at the same time. I'm gonna be a bridesmaid!

Urban chic

8 4

After an enchanting post with dreamy places and romantic images, we go back to the city and on our way to enjoy a small cocktail before ending the evening with an open air symphonic concert - gotta love cultural cities, so many things can happen.
Before grabbing a bite and explore the new pub in town called Submarine - check it out whenever you're in Cluj, the design is AMAZING - we took these photos while the light was still with us and I think I insisted too much because we almost missed our reservation. But hey, I can't stop until I have the desired results - any blogger would say the same thing.
As for the outfit, a flapper dress, a statement blazer and some sparkly jewelry and you're good to go on a night out in town. Not too complicated but still, noticeable. ;)

A sort of modern flapper

68 4

How is the weekend treating you? Mine is both relaxed and tiring. The fact is that yesterday I walked around quite a bit, took photos, attended a concert (no, not dressed like that!) and went home late in the night. Today is mostly about the same, but instead of concerts, I will watch the UAD Gala and hopefully it will be a blast because tonight, Cluj will hold one of the most important fashion events in the country.
About the dress I am wearing, I went on and devoured my flatmate's wardrobe because again, I wasn't inspired by my own and this particular dress reminded me of the flapper fashion back in the '20s which I quite love. I thought it was a great moment to wear it an feel casual and light.

Deliverance

_DSC0122

This is what I've been working on for the past two months, my graduate collection of which I am quite pleased and soooo happy that it's finished - in time. I was so stressed with the deadline, I honestly thought I will never finish it in time, because for a single person to sew six coats and six dresses is quite time consuming (yes, I made a Fall collection) Therefor, no sleep for a few nights in a row, barely get out of the house, I was angry at my stomach for feeling hungry, because I had to cook myself food, and I needed time for that! But enough about my sufferings, let me tell you in a few words the idea of this collection.
I wanted to make something ready-to-wear, but also to bring some innovations. I thought of doing that through the cuts and maybe with the applied threads on the fabric.
I got inspired from the 1920s era, definitely one of my favorite and tried to mix it with our minimalistic modern time. So, it's a fusion between two fashion eras that are separated by almost a century.

The concept of the threads is based on the idea of freeing yourself from all the daily concerns, stress and other problems that come with our time we live in, and as in the 1920s we should try and let aside all the things that are stopping us live and to enjoy the little things that matter, to just remember to have fun. Deliverance is the name of my story, meaning freedom, to cut loose, to unleash, independence, and all other synonyms you can think of.

For the second part of the story, I wanted to recreate the atmosphere of the 1920s, that means vintage..and where else to recreate that feeling other than Thomas Antiques?  I thought of that place the very moment my idea of the whole concept pop-ed into my mind, and everything was perfect, even the music was Jazz-y!

Thoughts? I am looking forward in reading them.

And of course I have to give a very special thanks to Evelina, who posed for me, I am sure she was tortured by the heat, and to Sandra for helping me with the photos!
Thank you girls!

Roaring Twenties

tr6

There is something about the '20s that attracts me in a special way, no matter what small obsession I may have for other past decades in certain moments, I am constantly being drawn to that era, an era with nonchalant attitude, with freedom of movement, with jazz, with laughter without being constrained by society or manners.
When TINA R contacted me for a collaboration and suggested me this dress, imagine how I immediately built up a story in time. I felt dressed like this as if I were a character in "Midnight in Paris" or a dancer at the cabaret in "Chicago". Needless to say those are two of my favorite films and this dress is like ripped from that period of time ; the low waist, the elegance, the fringes.. I paired it with a self made headband, added some pearls and tried to make finger-waves in my hair (it's soooo complicated) and this is the result of which I am quite proud.
