It's warmer in the freezer..

You probably can't tell, but the weather is simple freezing! Everything is frosted, the pavements are trapped in ice, so naturally it's impossible (at least for me) to walk in heels without concerning breaking my ankles. To do thus, it would take me 2 hours instead of the normal 30 minutes to get back home. And I do miss my heels, boo! Hope the weather changes rapidly in Spring.
As for me..exams are knocking on the door, and I have a few projects to work on, so I am still very busy.

And my cat which hypothetically it's named Zola, but I don't actually call her that way at all.
She is the most adorable naughty being ever!

Have a wondrous week!

The Magic of Haute Couture

With every haute couture season I am more and more drawn to the transparencies which are a trend for some years now, I am fascinated with the beautiful embellishments and the exquisite craftsmanship in these garments. The dresses look so fragile as if they'll break at a single touch and the feminine silhouette really puts a woman in great value.
Here are my favorites, starting with Dior..

The delicacy at Valentino

And the sparkling, precious refined gowns from Elie Saab. Even the colors are delicious!

There's a blizzard in our way..

This is how it's been snowing -it's actually worst, for the last two days and I heard it's going to get worse. Indeed I was looking forward for another session of cold days, but this time with water literally in my feet and my hair turning frizzy and the wind biting into my face. Wonderful indeed.
This is just a quick post letting you know that I still live, but as usual, I left all my work at the very last minute (why do I always do that?) and I have to work for three projects simultaneously, so for almost 4 days I haven't stepped out, only to the store to buy me some food. Probably I'll manage to show you some goodies, quite soon.

Pre Fall 2012

It's not been a long time since designers began showing their pre-fall collections, now there are so many and it seems fashion is growing too fast. In the beginning I was confused about these presentations, I thought "what was the point of pre-fall?" And still, it's not as popular as the Fall/Winter or Spring/Summer season, but of course buyers pay attention and so are the passionate customers. The problem is, these products live too little. And even so, with so many collections, don't you feel confused about trends and..even inspiration? Too many to choose from.
Anyway here are two collections that thrilled me the most; first Missoni, one of my favorite brands:
I love the prints and the looks, so urban and ethnic at the same time.

And then... there is Jonathan Saunders, with his amazing bold colors, which I adore (see previous outfit post) and the cute graphics...so sixties.

Wonders never cease

I'm out of words at the moment. Too many thoughts running through my mind and yet I can't find their order. I'm way too stressed out with school I guess.
Hope you'll have a fabulous weekend!

Soirees de la mode

Last night I was invited to quite a popular fashion event that is happening in Bucharest which is Soirees de la mode where Wilhelmina Arz (who also initiated this event ten years ago) presented her Spring Summer 2012 collection in the royal ballroom at the Hilton Hotel. I was so amazed as usual by the wonderful decorations and the attention to details, and I felt again trapped in another epoch.
Now onto the collection. It's called "Imagine" and as I heard it was inspired by the Japanese traditional theatre, but as the models came and went, I barely saw Japan in those silhouettes. Maybe the flowers in their hair (which by the was I thought of it as a very lovely and feminine idea, it probably was my favorite detail from the collection) and some prints but not enough, and I thought the collection was not very well put together, the pieces separately, yes, they looked okay, but not all together. But I let you speak your opinion.
The music was great and so was the space, I met again some bloggers and I chatted for a bit with them, always a pleasure!

Pretty cool outfit on this girl, eh?

I breathe vivid colors

A stray doggie wanted a bit of attention, isn't he cute?
And who said I can't wear crazy colors in winter? The trends? It's of course cool to adopt them, if you are harmonized with that trend, otherwise people will feel that it is not YOU behind certain clothes and textures, but that is the thing: some do not consider that and adopt every single trend that is given by style.com or elle.com or Vogue, so they can be fashionable, but recently there are too many to choose from so to me it's a bit confusing..it seems like everything is in fashion these days!
When I saw last season's main trend -color block- I thought yes, finally fashion resonates with me, and then every blogger and fashionista was wearing vivid colors, because someone told them it's ok to do that, and then I felt like almost disappearing in the mass, so at some point I ended up hating that trend. And of course once you wear a certain piece now, the next year you should bury it in your closet and forget about it for let's say..5 years.
So I want you to tell me now, if you see me in colors in winter, does it mean that I am not fashionable anymore?
