Neutral Winter

 

February is just around the corner, the last month of Winter so they say; the thought that one more month (make that a month and a half) of cold, heavy coats, boots and sweaters is killing me slowly. I miss Spring, I miss the flowers and the chilly evenings where I could walk around without freezing and dreaming of a hot tea to warm myself up. 

 On that note, it feels that a transitional season is up ahead and for me, that means neutral colors and neutral feelings. So, camel coats, beige boots, ochre skirts or grey bags will suffice. Gradually, I intend to add more color to the outfits, I started off with a dark purple this time, because well, plain neutral from head to toe is just boring. I couldn't go out without some accessories, I took out all my vintage Toledo gold jewels this time around - these did not came in a set, I searched for them individually for more than a year! I am still searching for a bracelet in this style, maybe 2017 will be my lucky year!

The Winter Cape

 

 I seriously can't believe we are having snow already! 

It snowed this past Sunday and pretty much everything turned white in a few hours and the air was so crisp and cold, just like mid Winter. We never had such low temperatures in November in I don't know how many years! However, it does not seem to last long as the snow is already melting, but I managed to take these photos while the sun was setting (at 4 PM, that is just..depressing for me) and I am glad I captured this beautiful warm light, in comparison to the cold outside. I bundled up really well in a chunky sweater, a winter beret and a thick wool cape which I usually wear during the Winter season. Now it seems it is time to take it out again. 

I don't know about the weather where you are from, but keep warm and do it in style!

Too sophisticated

 

 I went out and about in town the other day, proudly wearing these man repeller pants that I know some people are still fearing them for some reason. I just find that for my body constitution, they fit amazingly. 

I realised as soon as I stepped out of my building that people stared. Maybe I'm too sophisticated for this city (or country) but I never feel that I am overdressed or anything like that. I mean..how could I not add the cape and how could I ignore that hat which complimented the outfit so well? 

I like my choices and the continuous stares never get me down and hey, if people are afraid to dress up, that shouldn't be my problem right?

I wish Winter could go away already

As I am writing this post I am listening to THIS SONG. Remember it? I used to dance like crazy on that song. And it may or it may not relate to this outfit, but it's called "Lady" and well, I do look like a vintage lady I suppose, thanks to that pencil velvet skirt and the cape. Too bad the cold weather got into our bones that day and we couldn't take too many photos or make happy faces. Oh, when will Spring come? I am tired of winter clothes, mainly of coats that hurt my back because they are so heavy. Do you get that too or do I really have issues with back pains all of the time? 

 Valentine's Day came and went and even though I said I won't probably do anything, we went out and had a fancy dinner (I did, he ate pizza) drank a bottle of white wine and even made room for dessert! I love dining out in fancy places, it makes me feel cozy, maybe I was an aristocrat in a past life, ha ha. 

 Now I am listening to THIS and dancing in the chair - don't imagine that, it's embarrassing. 

It seems I am in a mood for 2000's music. That was a good year. And I was just 10 years old.

Camel and navy blue

 

 Looks like I'm still infatuated with this color mix and how can you blame me? Blue goes with my hair color and blue also goes very well with nude/cream/beige/camel/orange and so on. Needless to say that I have been wearing that cape for the last week, it's like I've rediscovered it in my wardrobe after someone from Narnia snitched it from my closet. (Those who know the Narnia books, know what I mean).

  There are 10 more days left unbtil Christmas and I couldn't be more excited. But I'm even more excited when I think about the release of "The Hobbit 3" in a few days, wohooo! I've been watching all sorts of films and shows recently, including the dreamy Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - it's a must, every year. 

Now I'm off to the famous antiques fair we have here every month, hopefully I will find some treasures (and Christmas presents)

Crimson lights

 

 I was so excited I got the chance to take advantage of this perfect dusk and create these beautiful photos in full Autumn. I love this season with all its colors and beautiful melancholy. And when the days are warmer than usual, it is even better! So naturally, I get extra excited when everything falls into place and I really do feel happy in those small moments (oh yes, the philosophy of enjoying the little things strikes back!)

That lonesome sound of Winter

 

 Winter came along with that specific silence and serenity which is lovely for the time being. Better even when you stay inside the house, not get your feet wet and not wishing for a hot drink every five minutes. But oh well, we have to deal with it, yes? After all, there is no place in Romania without at least a week of snow, so we were expecting a Winter Wonderland sooner or later. 

How do you like my new cape and skirt? I loved them the first minute I saw them on MiniPrix website and I thought they would be a perfect pair, and they are! And of course, the were on sale..so happy me! I felt so great wearing it because it has a great fabric and it keeps me warm and at the same time it felt so light on me. And the skirt that wrapped my body amazingly and again, felt very comfortable.

Hope you are not stuck in snow, people! After all, Monday needs our hatred.
