For the love of burgundy

burgundy2

Can you believe Autumn is almost at it's end and soon Christmas will knock on our doors? It's no secret that I am already feeling festive and that I have a plan on how to decorate this year's Christmas so, I can't wait to start on it!
It really feels like November outside, the weather is really gloomy, so this is our last chance to color it up a bit, even if it is in darker colors! My favorite colors for Autumn are definitely burgundy and navy blue, I feel they are the perfect match, don't you? It's no use to stay gloomy on the inside too, so there is nothing that some color and a cup of hot chocolate can cure, am I right?

My kind of Winter

colorful winter3
It's been too long since I posted an outfit post, I missed those days when I had free time and lots of new clothes to play around with and also an available photographer pretty much all the time.
But you know, life gets in the way, job hours stress you out and everybody is busy. Now Christmas is coming and everyone is hectic with preparations and gift shopping.
My moods have been swinging from extremely festive to a somewhat nostalgia chill, don't know exactly why, perhaps a feeling of "getting older" that will surely pass. But this weird feeling kept me from feeling..inspired, which I totally hate.

I am wearing here quite a basic Winter outfit for me, I love this chromatic mix - the navy blue and marsala are working together beautifully, and this is pretty much what I have been wearing this season, a mini skirt hidden under a fine tailored coat, a blanket type of scarf (this one in particular is very soft and keeps me really warm) either heeled boots or over the knee simple ones, and a beret too, forgot it at home unfortunately this time and trust me, my ears were frozen and sore, it did not feel nice.
This is my kind of outfit for Winter, quite chic, as I like it!
Now tell me, are you ready for the holidays?

Casual vintage

casual jacquard

I just realised two things: that it's already May and somehow I can't find a way to adjust to the idea yet, second, this outfit is similar to my previous one and that was, naturally, completely unintentional. I have a blazer, though not the same one, this one I am wearing here is longer and fancyer (if that is even a word) and I'm wearing again, navy pants, although these are jeans. Anyway, I wasn't even sure I wanted to take photos that day, but for the sake of my hair and makeup of which I was pretty proud that day, I said, let's give it a try.

My birthday came and went and so did our late Easter, so I spent quiet times with family and friends. I filled my stomach with three different cakes and it's safe to say that I won't be craving for sugar for a while now.

Ups and downs

777 8

I've been away from the blogosphere for a while, not that I didn't care to enjoy inspiring posts because I do see and analyze them, just that I didn't felt the need to be a part of all that for a bit. I wanted to stay in the shadows, thinking and rethinking my choices, my life, this blog. We all have our ups and downs and I am sure you get the feeling. If not, then you must be the happiest person on this planet. Ever.
So you all know about that moment when you decide to go on a shopping spree when you're feeling down. If you don't, it's called shopping therapy. And it's bad. Really bad. If you don't control yourself, you buy all kind of stuff you actually don't need, but they do make you feel better in that moment. Luckily I controled myself. I only bought some jewelry and I browsed with great boredom through all the sale items and nothing caught my attention except for this dress I showed you on Facebook a few days ago. I loved the cut and the unusual fabric and I really can't wait to wear it in the Summer. The dress is from Mohito, I brand that I seriously never heard of before and I realised the store opened just recently here in Cluj. They really do have great, sophisticated and modern collections and I really am glad that I found a new store that it's different from the overrated Zara, Stradivarius H&M and so on.

Simple pleasures

xc 6

I've been thinking of both lavish and modest things that one can have in a life time. Of course, we all desire to have and to offer more and more and we sometimes feel tiny and useless when we don't accomplish what we wished, but we can also feel gratefeul and happy about the small pleasures than can happen unexpectedly. Like a warm sunset that can create beautiful colors in an Autumn landscape. Or a soft, cashmere cardigan that really keeps you warm during the annoying cold days. Or a piece of a delicious cake, one you never tried before.
Not that I've become philosphical in the past week, but I had days when I though about my accomplishments and my failures ( I suppose being in your mid twenties gets you to think more and party less) and I also had days when I was simply too busy to think about this blog, but when I finally tried to edit these photos, my PC decided to breakdown (Karma maybe?)
Not being very active here doesn't mean I'm not social or ignorant. I read blogs, I look at trends, I analyze things. It's just my priorities have changed a bit. Rather than staying glued to the PC all the time (my job requires me to gaze at the monitor for 8 to 9 hours per day) I prefer to focus on myself when I get the chance.
Alright, enough rambling, I have a job to attend to.

Have a positive end of the week and enjoy everything life has to offer you - even if it seems insignificant.

November

sw4 3

Another week has past and another month came, and how fast I might add!
I dare say I have become a bit lazy. I was thinking of posting more often but other things just got in the way, then Halloween came and I had to party with witches, Jokers and other dreadful creatures downtown. Saturday I had to take time and recover from the night before (not that I am much of party girl, but from time to time it is necessary - yes, I said "necessary") and only then I was able to make these photos. On Sunday I wasn't much at home to post them, so here I am Monday at noon, wishing you all a very wonderful week ahead and at the same time wishing myself to get up and do some errands before my work starts. Oh..the necessities of life. Sometimes I so desire a butler and a maid. Speaking of which, I must see the new episode from Downton Abbey! I guess my errands will have to wait...

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as you could!

With Ralph Lauren on a walk

rl9

 Got you interested didn't I?
Well, not with the intention to be mean, but only to brag about the skirt I'm wearing, by the one and only Ralph Lauren, I found this Summer in a thrift shop. So for only 3 euros I get too look pretty and chic and I get to stroll around the city with pride.
Man, I've always wanted a skirt like this, the length is perfect, the cut is amazing, it fits me unbelievably well and the fabric is simple but it does it's job! And the neutral color allows you to wear it with so many other colors and create lots of styles. So, yes, I scored big time and I'm still amazed.

In the meantime, Fall came in fast, but it's still sunny and warm and I love that, until you get to freeze in the evenings; but that can change as long as you have good company and a delicious cup of tea by your side. Oh ... can't wait for hot chocolates and gingerbread cookies, yum!
But those are for a more colder season..

Have a lovely Sunday guys!
