8 things to do on a rainy day

books
You know when you wake up and see that it's pouring rain outside, the kind of rain that lasts for hours, if not all day long? For some people this is relaxing and for others it can mean the end pf the world, especially if they had planned an outdoor activity.
However, there are numerous other activites you can do indoors in a situation like this, I gathered a few ideas that I used in the past and they really worked for me, in the sense that my dark mood was lifted and I felt productive, therefor satisfied!

Here are 8 things you can do on a rainy day (or when you are bored):

1. Catch up with your reading! I often leave my lectures behind when I am too busy, so rainy days are the perfect moment for me to finish reading my novels; I am old fashioned, so I am always surrounded by actual books, not that I have anything against ebooks! Plus, hearing the rain outside while reading is quite soothing.

2. Create something! If you are crafty and have a passion for hand made stuff, now is the time to get things done. I have postponed sewing beads on this sweater for more than a month now, but I finally got the job done and I am feeling so satisfied now, I just love the result! Same goes for creating jewelry, clothing, knitting, you name it!

3. Declutter your makeup: not just makeup, you can start on your wardrobe too. You might get exhausted just by thinking about it, but once you start, you will feel so relieved that you will feel the need to reward yourself with a piece of cake.

This is only a part of my makeup. I organized the products I want to keep on the left side and toss the ones on the other side. No regrets! There is no use in keeping a product that has expired..eww..

4. Bake something! You ever wanted to try a new recipe of chocolate dessert but did not have the energy or time to do it? Now is the time to satisfy your curiosity. You will be so happy with the result, you will want to do it again!

5. Make lists: If you are not the most organized person in the world, maybe now it's a good start. Having written words listed on a piece of paper really makes you feel more responsible about the things you have to do. It can be a list of ideas for a holiday, a list of chores, books to read or movies to see and so on!

6. Color/Draw/Paint: Feeling artsy? The easiest way to spend time in an artistic way is with the help of coloring books! You now there are those beautiful books out there created by talented people like  Johanna Basford which you can color in any way you feel like. Trust me, the brain will start to work thinking "what color should I put here and there?" and once you see your work done, you will feel like a joyful kid.

7. Watch a marathon of a new TV show: If you're like me and sometimes feel like doing nothing productive, you will have somewhere a list of new TV series that you planned to watch, but somehow you postponed it. When you have the time, get comfy on your couch and binge watch those episodes, if the show is good, you will stay up all night too!

8. Take a bath: This is maybe mandatory in this list, but hey, it does work! There is nothing more relaxing to me that sitting in a hot bubble bath, drinking wine, listening to blues by the candle light. It's a great way to end the day after you've completed the tasks above.

Let me know your thoughts about this and please, share with me your activities if you are ever stuck indoors, I am curious!

Happy weekend everyone!

On these cold, lonely streets

cn5

Oh, yes, I was strutting around the empty street in a easy breezy shirt and dress shoes, while other people were freezing in boots and leather jackets. Not that there were that many anyway. The cold started to engulf the city rapidly, but I chose to ignore it, hence I woke up with a headache and an itchy nose, so that means that I will be catching a cold if I won't take some medication soon. That's what you get when you fool around in Autumn.
Now it's raining and everyone seems to stay put inside in a miserable, gloomy state. But I am not one of those people. I will go out and maybe buy a new lipstick. Or a book. Or maybe both.
And I really hope this is not the last time I wear heels and light clothing. I am not looking forward to boots just yet..

 Have a great Sunday guys!

Date night

5 2

I was giving up hope in taking some photos yesterday, considering the fact that it rained non stop - I mean...what a great way to start the weekend, tight?  But in the evening, just when we made reservations for your typical Saturday date night, it stopped raining. That moment I thought that this is my chance! So, we snapped a few photos in a fast-forward speed, God forbid we lose the reservation! But we made it in time and we ended the night in a lovely mood as if it never rained the whole day.
 Mission accomplished!

Purple and blue for October

pur1

It's been raining here for almost two days straight. Just when I decided to curl my hair and be all lady like. I am surprised it worked (not much for the curls though) as I usually am quite "meh" when it comes to dressing up in rainy weather. I always feel like wearing jeans and some sneakers not to ruin my fancy shoes - but sometimes exceptions can be made and luckily these white shoes ere not ruined.
What can I say, Autumn came and it is staying. So is my melancholy and my "not-in-the-mood-to-do-anything" state. At least I can drink tons of tea and read books while gazing the rain outside from time to time - that is a lovely Autumn scenario for me.

It's Friday (already!) Got any plans for the weekend?

Basic pieces, but don't forget some color!

mk27

Here I am, on a very rainy day, wearing my new basic pants I got in navy blue - my new color obsession. In fact, any shade of blue. I am obsessing over the idea of having a pair of high heeled shoes in baby blue and I have no idea why! Getting back to my outfit here, I have to say I am really pleased with these pants, so comfy and so elegant, but easy to wear! I paired them with this gorgeous blazer I received from Sheinside - I think a white blazer in your wardrobe is kind of a basic statement piece and I was really looking for that. And I couldn't resist the temptation of adding a bold color. Pink for that matter, one I don't really wear! I borrowed this blouse from my flatmate, the minute I decided I was bored with my own shirts - that is the best part of living with girlfriends, you can share clothes!
And I can't seem to get enough of those shoes lately. What can I say? They seem to go with everything!

Monochrome...not quite

maro9

 Yeeees, I am still alive!
Although it's been only a week, in the blogging world that means an eternity. I've been so caught up in so many things to do and barely got time for my blog. I missed it!
Onto the juicy news: I bought this very cool trench in a thrift shop out of town. No, I didn't go there special to shop (although I am capable of doing that) I had some errands and this huge, but huge second hand shop was there, so I had to go in and take a look. I tried on things like for an hour, and I settled with this trench (and another cute sweater) which I know it looks big, but it isn't actually. It'j just that loose design of the '80s so popular back then. I love the length and the fact that reminded me of something feminine and retro.
Yesterday was a gloomy, almost rainy day and I decided it was a perfect occasion to wear it paired with something black. But I couldn't resist adding some color..that's just me, naturally.
Have a fantastic weekend dear ones!

Black widow

cre4

I've been struggling to take some decent photos recently but the weather isn't on my side at all. When I happily took the chance to dress up in my newest pencil skirt from MiniPrix (received among other things) it started raining! So, excuse the state of my hair please..
Anyway, I am utterly excited with this new package I received and with this skirt. I wanted a clean, simple skirt in neutral colors that goes with so many things. I paired it here with a fluffy sweater that keeps me very warm and of course some gold accessories to give a touch of ..chicness.
Because black and gold are inseparable!
