The velvet cape

the velvet cape

I am so glad to hear that velvet is back in trend this Fall, so I thought it was time to take out my fancy velvet cape once again! I absolutely love this cape, it's just perfect for both daytime and evening wear, for a cocktail party or a night at the opera, wouldn't you say?
Even though I don't wear it as often as I want, it's one of my favorite items in my wardrobe and I don't think I could ever part ways with it; who even knows how old it is, I bought it a few years back from a thrift shop, but I intend to keep it in perfect condition for another twenty years or more.
What do you guys think about velvet?

Vintage dream

vintage dream3

Man, I can't believe it's September already. I have been so busy finding myself a new place to live, that I completely lost track of time and social media.
Yesterday I managed to just relax for about 5% and go out in the evening and try not to think about "Where am I going to live?" or "I am completely homeless!" but let's not turn this post into a pathetic one.
Let's talk about this dress instead! It's in a retro 1950s style, even though it is not actually vintage, but I am sooo pleased that nowadays I can find this vintage style dresses online and at a fair price! All you vintage lovers know that to find a historical piece of clothing really takes more than an effort.
I love this particular dress because it has such a nice volume and because of that it looks so feminine and elegant and you won't even believe how comfortable it is! What do you think about this style?

I hope you had a lovely weekend so let's focus on having a great week as well!

Romantic mood

blue flower dress

It appears the castle I visited last week left me in a romantic mood still, not that I complain, Romanticism is in my style, especially when it comes to photography. I feel this dress is appropriate for both casual day wear and also for a lovely date, just add some heels and some sparkly jewelry and you're good. I couldn't miss the sunset and it's golden light, it's just the perfect time to take photos, no matter the season.
It could have been perfect if it wasn't for the screaming kids around and loads of people walking around, but since we live in a big city, finding a secluded place is difficult, so this will do.
However, I hope you love the pictures and let's start the new week with fresh forces!

Off shoulder blouse

off shoulder top7

I can't believe this weather we are having! I remember last April, I was still cuddling in thick jackets and boots, but now you can't even think of a second layer, it's so amazing!
I took the chance and wore this off shoulder top which I love to pieces and paired it with one of my favorite skirts ever and strolled up and down the city until late in the evening. We ate our first icecream of the year and we even got back home by foot - and trust me, my apartment is not downtown. It was a good day indeed.
I am on vacation now, currently in Bucharest and I plan on taking long walks and hopefully take some dreamy photos.

Happy weekend guys!

The unknown coat

3922 3

Let's talk about brands! I started thinking about how saturated the streets are with popular brands like Zara, Stradivarius, H&M and such, the moment I bought this navy coat. Don't get me wrong, I love Zara and H&M, I have many items from their collections and sometimes I have the urge to buy an entire collection that's how much I love their designs, but certain pieces are just EVERYWHERE and that is what annoys me the most.
I just always want to have this special sensation of feeling unique when I am wearing something I love and that doesn't happen very often. However, I when I was out with my mom in town, just browsing around for random stuff, my mom actually saw this coat and she insisted that I should try it on - get this, it was the last one and exactly in my size! - so if course, I couldn't resist the design, the cut, the color and how well it looked on me so I had to take it, so this is all her fault!

If it weren't for her, I would have never entered that store, you know why? Because it's not a popular store, it's just a shop that sells clothing in all kinds of styles, mostly office, slightly boring, then you see a modern and yet retro coat like this one! I mean, there are so many surprises in little shops like these and I know we young folk mostly avoid them because they are not popular and most of us want what everyone else has - I really don't get that.

So this coat is made in Ukraine, I barely found the brand on the web, you can check it out HERE if you want, but the site is in...Ukrainian, of course.  They seem to have some pretty cool designs though.
Oh and the boots, they are from Giulio, manufactured in Italy, they are made of leather and the quality is awesome, again, I found them in a random shop and I also found a website HERE. I see you can purchase them online, but unfortunately they don't have that many models.

So, in conclusion to this long post, don't avoid random shops, sometimes they can be more expensive than Zara TRF, but you can find so many awesome stuff that can make you feel a bit different than others, because they don't have a mass production so there are only a few pieces in certain sizes, thus the chances of running into another person on the street, wearing the same outfit as you, are much more slimmer.

How do you feel about these so called "random brands" ?

In Mid Winter

15 1 4

Back when Winter was still on and snow was everywhere, I went ahead and fooled around, so that is also when I pretty much caught a cold and now I sound like Don Corleone.
At least I have some pretty memories. And a new dress, found the last one in Zara, it was clearly waiting for me - gotta love sales!

Another year at its end

00 11 4

It seems Winter decided to come after all in my hometown. I woke up the other morning and I saw snow, everywhere! I am currently out of town, there is no snow here, but the temperature has dropped considerably, I really am not used to it anymore, it feels strange.
And it also, feels a bit uneasy to think about how fast another year has just passed, tomorrow we will be dreaming of new opportunities, new changes to make or if you're like me, you'll think about what new things to buy in the near future. I am kidding, I am not that much of a spender (I hope so).
In other words, I don't have a typical "what to wear on New Years Eve post" because I really haven't decided what to wear yet! I have to make some appetizers first and then think about what to wear - I think I'll go for something casual this year, not feeling very fancy, but who knows.

So, I wish you a very Happy New Year, loads of fun and I hope I'll see you in 2016!
