Everlasting love for velvet, vintage and bygone times

silk velvet green top2

Anyone who knows me, should be aware of my constant attraction to aristocracy, vintage accessories and clothing, old houses and...velvet. Put together all of them and I am complete!
Whenever I see a 100 year old historical mansion, I immediately feel this urge to explore it inside and out, then I start to imagine what kind of people lived there and all the stories and memories it upholds. I feel a sudden melancholy that is not even mine and I can't explain why, but I love it.
Whenever I am in such a house, I feel like I never want to leave, so capturing bits and pieces of it in pictures is the best I can do to keep the feeling alive and share it with you as well.

It feels this place deserves a proper attire, so I thought a silk velvet top which happens to be off the shoulder will make me feel a bit like a Victorian noble woman. Pair that with a cameo choker and vintage golden earrings and my look is fulfilled.

I wanted to snap more pictures of this house, but I wasn't exactly allowed to do that, plus there were other customers, but I hope you can get an idea of how classy it feels.
By the way, the place is called Amadeus Mozart Caffe for those who are interested. They serve the most delicious cakes and coffee in town!

Two small treasures: a skirt and a vintage bracelet

silk green skirt4

I'm such a romantic, aren't I? I couldn't help but to embrace my feminine style and create another classic/chic/romantic outfit.
This silky maxi skirt is one of my favorite items I own and how else could I pair it than with a off the shoulder blouse and golden jewelry! I scored this gorgeous colorful vintage bracelet from a vintage fair back in Bucharest, I fell in love with it at first sight, and even though spent a small fortune on it, I don't regret it, it is definitely an item to treasure!
What do you think of this look?

A casual romantic

green palazzo pants

I figure this is the last time I am wearing these green wide/palazzo/flare - whatever you wish to call them - pants; because Spring is coming up and I really can't stand wearing heavy clothing anymore, such as wool, tartan, tweed. So I thought of another way to style these pants, pairing them this time with a blushing pink in a more romantic kind of outfit. I would've preferred to wear some dress shoes, but it was too early in the morning and hence too cold for that; I'd rather keep my legs warm, I got comfortable, what can I do?

I hope you will have a great start of the week guys!

Accessorize!

one2

Today I went ahead and indulged in accessories, you know they can make an outfit stand out or even transform it into something amazing. I stared with a belt, then I added the beautiful silk scarf, and a hat, while we're there why not decorate it with a cameo brooch? You get my point, I got really excited and I left it like that and I realized I missed the days where I used to exaggerate with jewelry or scarves and necklaces!
Now I am so excited I am Spring and Summer to decorate myself with new shiny accessories!
What about you?

 Have a great weekend guys!

Green leaf

90 5

Today I'm not wearing a maxi dress, but a maxi skirt, haha, not much has changed there.
I loved the texture and the color of this skirt the moment I saw it in my friend's wardrobe and thanks to her, I took it out for a stroll and had the change to play around with it for a while. I only wish it could be mine, but I didn't had that luck (she found it in an outlet shop as I remember, grrr)
A simple feminine look, created from a flowy top with a gorgeous print, this lovely maxi skirt and some very high heeled sandals, basic ones, not too sophisticated and there is my Summer casual Sunday look.

 Have a great week guys!

They said Marsala is the color of 2015

99 7

So you know how Pantone decides which color represents each year in all trends, fashion, interior design, home furnishings and such. I was happy when Teal was the color of 2013 and I had mixed feelings about the following year's color Radiant Orchid. But this year it's time for Marsala, a delicate  kind of wine red, but not burgundy, that is a different. (writing this actually gives me cravings for red wine)
Without even knowing this information I found this wonderful pair of suede boots in an outlet store just waiting for me to grab them. They're from Stradivarius, I don't know which collection but they happen to be in this year's color trend. Then I thought: "well, this is awesome!"
So I was proudly wearing my new boots and my new haircut that day in my beloved Potocaliu coat, feeling modern but also with a vintage vibe (if that makes any sense)

Happy weekend guys!

This Easter morning

8ji 1

 Happy Easter people!
How are you celebrating? For me, it's basic: relax, eat a lot of food and traditional sweets and then just activate my "lazy-mode" for the rest of the day. Even though this is not my favorite Holiday, it's still a good excuse for me to procrastinate and keep my day dreaming up to date, so to speak.
I am wearing THIS beautiful chiffon dress I just received from TB Dress, in green, naturally, because it goes so well with my hair. In fact, it was the color that attracted me. I also love the simplicity of it, the fact that you can wear it both in daytime and at special ocassions during the night, if you accessorize it properly. It's easy to wear and just simply so comfortable!
I hope you're having a great time surrounded by your loved ones, ultimately, that is the most important thing, right?
